Donald Trump called the war in Iran an "excursion" that will keep the US "out of a war" during a visit to a facility in Cincinnati on Wednesday (11 March). It comes on the same day the president declared the US has “won” the war in Iran but needs to “finish the job," claiming that the US destroyed Iran's navy and air force in a matter of hours. As a reporter asked, "You just said it is a little excursion and often—you said it is a war. So which one is it?” the Republican replied: "Well, it's both. It's both. It's an excursion that will keep us out of a war. And the war is going to be, I mean, for them, it's a war, for us it's turned out to be easier than we thought."

President Donald Trump dropped by his Doral, Florida club to pump up Republican lawmakers ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

US president highlighted what he described as the successes of Operation Epic Fury against Iran in his latest speech.
