WASHINGTON: The House narrowly rejected a war powers resolution Thursday to halt President Donald Trump’s attacks on Iran, an early sign of unease in Congress over the rapidly widening conflict that is reordering US priorities at home and abroad. It’s the second vote in as many days, after the Senate defeated a similar measure.

The measure, which is not expected to pass, would require the withdrawal of military force within and against Iran until approved by Congress.

Democrats have questioned whether the US faced the kind of "imminent" threat from Iran that would legally allow the president to take military action on his own.
