RIYADH: Saudi Arabia intercepted three ballistic missiles targeting the Kingdom’s Prince Sultan Air Base, the Defense Ministry said early on Friday. The ministry did not say when the interceptions were made or who it was that launched the missiles. On Tuesday the US embassy in Riyadh was targeted by drones, causing a limited fire and minor damage to the building but no one was injured. Israel and the US launched a major air campaign against Iran on Saturday, prompting Tehran to strike out against US and Israeli assets in the region.

A loud blast was reportedly heard and flames were seen at the U.S. embassy in Riyadh early on Tuesday morning.
