Iran nuclear site hit by strikes, according to report

Satellite images have captured what appears to be the first known strikes on an Iranian nuclear site since the US and Israel began launching attacks on Iran on Saturday (28 February), an independent policy institute said. The Institute for Science and International Security said images produced by Colorado-based Vantor show two strikes on access points to the underground uranium enrichment plant at Natanz, which was hit by the US in June 2024. David Albright, a former U.N. nuclear inspector and founder of the institute, was unable to identify whether the U.S. or Israel hit the Natanz complex, one of the main facilities of Iran's nuclear program. However, he said the strikes appeared to have occurred sometime between Sunday afternoon (March 1) and Monday morning local time, based on the satellite imagery his group reviewed.
