‘He’s an idiot’: Robert De Niro blasts Trump and flag-waving MAGA supporters

Robert de Niro called Donald Trump “an idiot” in a new episode of the MSNBC podcast The Best People with Nicolle Wallace on Monday (23 February). “He’s an idiot. We gotta get rid of him. He's gonna ruin the country”, the legendary actor said, adding, “ I don't want everybody going around with their MAGA, the American flags, like they're the only ones. We are Americans too.” De Niro has been a longtime vocal critic of the Trump administration, describing the Republican as “America’s philistine president” in a speech at Cannes.
