Southern Africa is facing a significant humanitarian emergency, as devastating floods sweep across large parts of the region. This has displaced hundreds of thousands of people and resulted in significant loss of life. Prolonged and intense rainfall has inundated vast areas of Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe and neighboring countries. This has destroyed homes, critical infrastructure and livelihoods. As a result, the human toll has been severe, with confirmed deaths surpassing 100.

More than 150 people have been killed and some 800,000 affected in the southern and central provinces of Mozambique.
