US welcomes Iraq’s step to take Daesh militants from Syria

WASHINGTON: US Secretary ​of State Marco Rubio said on Thursday Washington ‌welcomed ‌Iraq’s initiative ‌to ⁠detain ​Daesh militants in secure facilities in Iraq. “Non-Iraqi terrorists ⁠will ‌be in ‍Iraq ‍temporarily; ‍the United States urges countries to take ​responsibility and repatriate their citizens ⁠in these facilities to face justice,” Rubio said in a statement.
