Japan's Tokyo Electric Power Co. shut down a nuclear reactor Thursday morning at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant hours after it went live.

Japan's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant, the world's largest, is set to restart one reactor on January 21, 2026.
