MINNEAPOLIS: A federal judge in Minnesota on Friday ordered that US immigration agents deployed en masse to Minneapolis be restricted in some of the tactics they have taken…

The court injunction bars federal agents from detaining or retaliating against peaceful protesters or observers.

The ruling prohibits officers from detaining individuals when there is no reasonable suspicion that they are obstructing or interfering with the operation.

Safely following agents “at an appropriate distance does not, by itself, create reasonable suspicion to justify a vehicle stop,” the ruling said.
