Algeria issues wheat import tender, traders say

PARIS: Algeria’s state grain agency OAIC has issued an international tender to buy wheat, with a deadline for offers on Monday, European traders said on Saturday. The tender sought a nominal volume of 50,000 ⁠metric tons, they said, though OAIC usually purchases much more in its import tenders. Shipment is required in March if ⁠wheat is purchased from Algeria’s main supply zone like Europe, traders added. Algeria is one of the world’s largest wheat importers.
