BUENOS AIRES: Chile’s hard-right president-elect Jose Antonio Kast said Tuesday he would “support any situation that ends the dictatorship” of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Kast's victory is seen as part of a trend of right-wing victories across Latin America, including in Argentina.

Many believe Kast will be the most right-wing president since Augusto Pinochet, who oversaw a 17-year dictatorship in Chile from 1973.
