Democrats voted down a Republican bill that would have provided limited relief for out-of-pocket healthcare costs.

The Senate shot also shot down advancing a bill that would've deposited $1,000 to $1,500 into health savings accounts, or HSAs, for eligible consumers

Democrats, meanwhile, blocked a competing GOP bill on Thursday that would have bolstered health savings accounts instead.
