Meta began removing Australian teens younger than 16 from its platforms on Thursday to comply with the country's new law, which begins on Dec. 10.

The 10 platforms, including Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok, would face fines if they fail to take reasonable steps to enforce the law.

The tech giant will begin closing accounts for under 16 year olds, a week before an official ban.
