KYIV: Ukraine has almost completed sowing winter wheat for the 2026 harvest and crops will enter winter in good condition, major farmers union UAC said on Tuesday. The government said this week farmers had sown 4.74 million hectares of winter wheat as of December 1, or 99.3 percent of the expected area. “There is sufficient moisture, the plants will enter winter in normal condition, and no problems have been identified so far,” UAC said in a weekly report. In recent years, Ukraine has regularly faced drought during the autumn sowing season.
