The Federal Aviation Administration says only 776 of the more than 10,000 air traffic controllers who worked without pay will receive $10,000 bonuses.

Close to 800 air traffic controllers and technicians with perfect attendance will get $10,000 bonuses, the FAA said.

The payments will be received no later than Dec. 9, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

Bonuses of $10,000 will be awarded to 776 air traffic controllers and technicians with perfect attendance during the 43-day government shutdown.

A number of controllers started calling out of work as the shutdown dragged on longer than a month and they dealt with working without a paycheck.
