NHTSA reported Teslas driving through red traffic lights and driving against direction of travel during a lane change

The U.S.' top auto safety agency said it had identified more than 50 reports of FSD running red lights, crossing yellow lines, or making illegal turns.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said is opening an investigation into 2.88 million Tesla vehicles equipped with the Full Self-Driving system.

Tesla is the subject of yet another investigation.

The US government said approximately 2.9 million cars could be impacted by the investigation.

FSD has been crossing into oncoming traffic and ignoring red lights.

For years, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has promised investors that Tesla would someday be able to turn their existing electric vehicles into robotaxis.

The new investigation covers 2.9 million vehicles.
