PARIS – Under the easy-to-grasp slogan "We'll block everything," Italy has reached the boiling point in recent weeks. As a sign of solidarity with the European flotilla to the Gaza Strip, hundreds of thousands of Italians – according to organizers, it was two million – went out into the streets, plazas and train stations and brought the country to a halt with a general strike.

Demonstrators condemned the treatment of the Global Sumud Flotilla that set sail last month.
