The Miss Asia-Pacific International Organisation confirmed that all competitors and staff were safe following the incident. The earthquake's epicentre was identified as Bogo City, 95km from Cebu, which has since declared a “state of calamity”. The disaster has resulted in at least 69 confirmed deaths and 150 injuries.
