WASHINGTON: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, an outspoken critic of Israel’s war in Gaza, called Monday for a state of Palestine to be admitted to the UN after a French-led summit on recognition. “This conference marks a milestone, but it’s not the end of the road. It’s only the beginning,” Sanchez said at the United Nations General Assembly. “The State of Palestine must be a full member of the United Nations,” he continued. “The process for the State of Palestine to join this organization must be completed as soon as possible, on an equal footing with other states,” he said.
