Orsted and Skyborn Renewables-owned project has won motion for preliminary injunction against stop work order

A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration can’t continue to keep work paused on a major offshore wind farm for Rhode Island and Connecticut.

The Trump administration had halted construction on the $6.2 billion Revolution Wind project, prompting its developer to sue.

The Interior Department had ordered Orsted on Aug. 22 to halt construction on Revolution Wind off the coast of Rhode Island and Connecticut.

A DC district court decided that Orsted can resume building its wind project off Rhode Island, which the Trump administration froze last month.

The decision means Orsted can resume work on the nearly completed Revolution Wind project.
