California Governor Gavin Newsom countered Hannity's assertion by referencing a July social media post where Donald Trump hoped he played a "major part" in late-night hosts losing their shows and predicted Kimmel would be "next". Donald Trump celebrated Kimmel's suspension as "Great News for America" and suggested other late-night hosts, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, should also be ousted.
