President Donald Trump extended a deadline on Tuesday that would require China's ByteDance to divest TikTok's U.S. business or face an effective ban in America.

The next TikTok ban extension is set to expire on Sept. 17, unless a deal is reached.

The app would have gone dark if China’s ByteDance had not divested by Wednesday.

Deal talks have dragged, with President Donald Trump extending the deadline three times since taking office in January.
