This week, hundreds of movie industry workers from around the world signed a pledge not to work with certain Israeli film institutions. Their signatures add to those of roughly 3,500 filmmakers worldwide and form part of a growing wave of initiatives aimed at disrupting Israeli "normalcy," which, they argue, is built on crimes against humanity in Gaza, apartheid and the military occupation of the West Bank. Whether through active support or silent consent, many Israelis agree with these calls.
