Move comes days after Thai court removed Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra from office.

BANGKOK: Thailand’s largest opposition party was set to hold a kingmaking summit Monday to decide who to back as the nation’s next prime minister, after the incumbent was ousted…

The People’s Party has demanded that any government it helps form must dissolve parliament within four months to hold a snap election.

Dissolving parliament could trigger a general election, as the main opposition has yet to support either coalition for the next government.

The decision came after the People’s Party said it will back tycoon Anutin Charnvirakul’s bid to form a new government.

Move comes days after Thai court removed Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra from office.

The governing Pheu Thai party has nominated former Attorney General Chaikasem Nitisiri.
