Spotify introduces new direct messaging feature for users

LONDON: Spotify on Tuesday announced it will begin rolling out a new in‑app messaging feature this week, available to both free and premium subscribers. The feature will allow users to share music, podcasts, and audiobook recommendations directly with friends without leaving the app. It will initially launch in select markets and be available to users aged 16 and above, the company said. According to Spotify, the feature can be accessed by tapping the share icon while listening to a track, podcast, or audiobook in the “Now Playing” view, then selecting a friend to send it to.
