The siege on Gaza City is the first part of plans approved by Israel’s security cabinet to take full military control of Gaza

Israel on Wednesday entered the first stages of its planned assault on Gaza City after approving a plan to take over the city that includes calling up 60,000 reservists.

Call-up letters have gone out to 60,000 reservists to bolster an operation which is expected to last until next year.
