The Office for National Statistics ( ONS ) said gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.3 per cent between April and June this year.

The economy expanded by 0.3% between April to June period, ahead of economists' expectations.

Output grew only 0.3 per cent between April and June - a sharp slowdown on the previous three-month period when the economy expanded by 0.7 per cent.
