Immigration lawyers who claim 100 people have already been deported are seeking a restraining order against the Florida detention centre.

Deportation flights from the so-called Alligator Alcatraz in southern Florida have begun, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said at a news conference Friday.

"This is an unprecedented and disturbing situation," immigration attorneys wrote in court papers.
