The head of the American Automotive Policy Council, which represents General Motors, Ford and Stellantis, raised concerns about Trump's Japan deal.

“This is a deal that will charge lower tariffs on Japanese autos with no U.S. content,” said Matt Blunt, president of the American Automotive Policy Council.

President Trump’s 15 percent tariff on cars from Japan has angered U.S. automakers, which make cars in Canada and Mexico subject to 25 percent tariffs.
