The Los Angeles Dodgers have donated $1 million to assist families impacted by two weeks of immigration raids in Southern California.

The baseball team is also expected to announce plans to assist immigrants who have been impacted by the raids in the city, US media report.

The Dodgers' Latino fan base has been part of the team's identity at least since the "Fernandomania" craze surrounding Mexican-born pitcher Fernando Valenzuela in the 1980s.
