"We’re gonna have troops everywhere. We’re not going to let this happen to our country."

President Donald Trump said he would support arresting California Gov. Gavin Newsom and called the rioters in Los Angeles 'insurrectionists.'

Trump lashed out at Newsom - who has been tipped as a possible 2028 presidential candidate - over unrest, saying: ‘He’s done a terrible job’.

"This is a day I hoped I would never see in America," the California governor said on social media.
