Luxury beach huts on a Dorset sandbank face being cut off from the mainland until the summer as the council 'takes ages' to fix a 'lifeline' jetty which was damaged by Storm Ciaran.
Furious owners at the remote Mudeford Sandbank have told the local council to 'pull their finger out' and repair the section of the jetty which has been closed since November for safety reasons after it was battered by 80mph gales.
Bournemouth Christchurch Poole (BCP) Council insists it is prioritising the repairs but says it is unlikely to reopen until the start of the 2024 summer season.
The 350 huts at Mudeford can sell for £450,000 and the sandy spit is renowned for its picturesque and isolated location. Cars are banned and they can only be reached by a long walk, a ride on a land train or by the ferry service.
