Humza Yousaf has been named as one of 100 “rising leaders” from across the world by Time magazine.
The first minister is praised alongside a host of sports stars, artists, influencers and politicians by the American news magazine, which creates global headlines with its annual person of the year list.
The new ranking is aimed at showcasing a new generation that it said would “push us forward, showing what is possible as well as what society’s future and future leaders will look like”.
Yousaf, 38, became the first Muslim leader of a Western democracy and the first ethnic-minority leader of a devolved UK government earlier this year when he took office.
