Renata Anelli, a student from Buenos Aires, has all but given up on her dream of buying a house or travelling the world amid a worsening economic crisis.

One thing she will not abandon is her therapy.

“There is zero point in saving, because if we wait before spending it, it will devalue,” said Anelli, 21, who forgoes two meals a week to make up the cost of her sessions. “We have to focus on the short term, so we spend our money on overpriced psychoanalysis that will get us through the week.”
