ir Keir Starmer has decided not to hold a reshuffle after the local elections, confounding frontbenchers who had been braced for moves as soon as this weekend.

Speculation has been intensifying in Westminster for months about which of Starmer’s shadow cabinet might be promoted or demoted as part of a coronation bank holiday reshuffle.

However, the Labour leader has decided instead to postpone the changes. While there remains a chance that Starmer might conduct a reshuffle before the summer recess, it is now most likely to take place in the autumn, after Labour’s annual conference.
