Hamptons estate agency looked at everyone who bought a home from the Countrywide Group, a network of 60 estate agents operating across the UK. It found that in the first three months of this year, for people selling properties in rural towns and villages, the proportion of those moving to commuter areas was up to 41 per cent compared with 31 per cent this time
