Donald Trump arrived in New York to face criminal charges related to hush-money paid to a porn star during his 2016 political campaign, as the city braced for the unprecedented surrender of a former president.
Mr. Trump left his Mar-a-Lago compound in Florida around noon Monday, traveling in a motorcade along roads lined with supporters and boarding his jet, with its television tuned to Fox News carrying the departure live. After landing at LaGuardia Airport he went to Trump Tower in Manhattan to meet with his lawyers and other advisers.
