After a year that brought people back to movie theaters following a prolonged pandemic slump, the films that dominated box offices and drove conversation are up for top honors at the 95th Academy Awards.

“Everything Everywhere All at Once,” the universe- and reality-bending A24 film that became a worldwide phenomenon, leads the Oscars pack with 11 nominations, including best picture and nods in every acting category. “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “All Quiet on the Western Front” tied for second with nine nominations each.
