June 9 (UPI) -- Harrison Wagner, the 27-year-old son of General Hospital icons Kristina and Jack Wagner, was found dead this week in a Los Angeles parking lot, but the cause remains under investigation, officials confirmed.
"Cause of death is deferred," a representative for the Los Angeles Coroner's Office said in a statement to People.com Wednesday.
"Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies," the statement added. "Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination."
UsMagazine.com said Harrison had a history of drug and alcohol abuse, and went missing for five days in 2016 causing Jack to make a public plea for his return.
In 2021, Harrison wrote an inspirational message about life's challenges on Instagram.
