Microsoft Corp’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) new AI safety framework is already getting a vote from Wall Street.
By 11:30 a.m. ET Monday, CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) shares had surged 14.7%, Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:PANW) was up more than 12.7% and Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE:NET) had gained roughly 6% as investors looked beyond AI models to the security infrastructure needed to keep increasingly autonomous systems under control.

AI Safety Becomes a Security Problem
Microsoft’s Humanist AI Code of Conduct is a draft framework for Microsoft’s AI development and operation. But the 37-page document lays out an unusually detailed vision for future AI systems, with one overriding principle: "People matter more than AI." Microsoft says its models should remain subject to human control, including correction and shutdown.
