Analysts don't expect the push for more responsible AI development to derail data-center spending

Micron's stock is falling on Monday alongside the broader chip sector.

The calls from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and rival executives to slow artificial-intelligence development are hurting chip stocks on Monday as investors assess whether a more measured approach to AI would impact spending on hardware.

The iShares Semiconductor ETF SOXX is off 5% in morning action Monday. Shares of Micron Technology (MU) are down nearly 7%, shares of Marvell Technology (MRVL) are off about 8% and shares of Nvidia (NVDA) are down 3%-plus.
