London (EFE).- United States President Donald Trump left Ireland on Sunday, reiterating that the reunification of the island is natural, after his two-day visit to the country.

After saying on Saturday that he would like to see the island of Ireland «together» and that reunification will happen sooner or later, Trump doubled down on his comments Sunday when asked by the media at the Irish Open golf tournament in Doonbeg, western Ireland.

«I’ve always loved the people of Ireland. It just seems to me you have Northern Ireland and Ireland,» he said

«It seems that one of the naturals of all time is to put them together. That’s only my opinion, and by the way many people agree,» the US head of state said.
