Aitor Alcalde/Getty ImagesSept. 13, 2026 Updated 10:08 am EDTValencia have sacked head coach Carlos Corberan with the club bottom of La Liga after five matches.Friday’s defeat at Sevilla was the 43-year-old’s final game in charge and marked the club’s fourth league loss in a row, with just one point.Valencia have also parted company with its CEO of Football, Ron Gourlay, who previously held similar positions at Chelsea, Reading and West Bromwich Albion.Corberan’s successor will be Valencia’s 18th permanent head coach since 2012.

Last season, Corberan led Valencia to a ninth-place finish.This season has been tougher, with an opening-day draw against Celta Vigo followed by defeats to Real Betis, Deportivo A Coruna, Barcelona and then Sevilla.Previously, Corberan led West Brom to ninth- and fifth-place finishes in the Championship during his two seasons in charge of the club, and left the club in seventh spot.
