When the 2027 event takes place: The Great North Run 2027 is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2027, bringing thousands of runners together for the large-scale half-marathon.
The course will follow the traditional point-to-point route, which begins in the city centre of Newcastle and concludes at the coast in South Shields.
Participants will travel along standard public roads, passing various local landmarks along the way to the finish line.
This year's run takes place today (Sunday, September 13).
How you can enter : If you want to secure a standard spot in the race for 2027, you must submit your entry for the general ballot before 12am on September 20, 2026.
