In an interview with Fortune editor-in-chief Alyson Shontell, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the company is not planning to go public in 2026. “I actually think that, given everything happening with safety, right now would be an ill-advised moment to go public, and we don’t feel pressure on that,” Altman told the magazine. TheFly notes that Goldman Sachs (GS) and Morgan Stanley (MS) were the primary lead banks expected to lead the company’s IPO, with JPMorgan (JPM) and Citi (C) also brought in to expand the syndicate.
