Chris Graythen / Getty ImagesSept. 12, 2026 9:18 pm EDT Updated MADISON, Ill. — A pit road stack-up resulted in a close call but no reported injuries for crew members early in Saturday night’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Louis.As teams in NASCAR’s second-tier series prepared to make their first pit stop of the night at the end of Stage 1, several cars spun and crashed on pit road and nearly crushed a pair of Joe Gibbs Racing crew members who were already on their knees changing tires on Brent Crews’ car.Rajah Caruth was spun and Nick Sanchez’s car seemed to make contact with at least one of the crew members on his back, but there was just enough of a pocket to avoid having them get crushed.

It’s just super unfortunate. … Hopefully everyone’s OK on pit road.”
