adsLiverpool failed to find a way past a resilient Fulham side on Saturday, after playing a goalless draw at Anfield, as former Reds defender Álvaro Arbeloa earned his first Premier League point as Fulham manager.
Arbeloa had lost his opening three league matches since taking charge of the west London club, but Fulham produced a disciplined defensive display to frustrate Liverpool.
Despite remaining unbeaten under Andoni Iraola, Liverpool were booed at full-time after registering their third draw in four league matches. The result left them sixth in the table and potentially further behind the leaders if Arsenal beat Sunderland later on Saturday.
Liverpool’s expensively assembled attack failed to deliver, with Bradley Barcola, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, each valued at around £100 million, unable to break through Fulham’s defence.
The visitors arguably had the better chances to claim all three points. Gonzalo Garcia missed a clear opportunity in the first half, while Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker produced an outstanding save to deny Josh King a potential late winner.adsads
