The historic Umkhosi Womhlanga (reed dance) has resumed in northern KwaZulu-Natal, officially launching the province's 2026 Heritage Month festivities under the theme “Celebrating our living Heritage: Strengthening the ties that bind us”.

Grounded in human dignity and cultural democracy, the second leg of the massive annual gathering runs through Sunday, September 13, at the eMashobeni Royal Palace near Nongoma.
