Apollo Global Management (APO) is in talks to acquire the Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) orthopedics unit that the company has been looking to separate, Bloomberg’s Michelle Davis, Manuel Baigorri, and Ryan Gould report, citing people familiar with the matter. Apollo is in talks to value the unit at close to $20B, the people said, asking not to be identified because the discussions are private. The unit, known as DePuy Synthes, has attracted interest from several private equity firms, the people noted.
