Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, has said the Strait of Hormuz remains and will remain under Iran’s full control, blaming the US for regional maritime insecurity and rising global fuel prices, Mehr news agency reported.
“The insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is the result of US actions, and if the international community is concerned about rising fuel prices, it should reprimand the United States,” Baghaei said during a televised interview on Friday.
Baghaei accused the United States of violating the Islamabad MoU only 23 days after its signing, adding the US’s “pretexts” for carrying out attacks “had no basis”.
